THE LMDI-NACC FIRST SESSION OF EXHIBITION MATCHES FOR YEAR FIVE (5) HAS BEGUN.

The LMDI National Academic Challenge Competitions (LMDI-NACC) named and styled TOMORROW’S PEOPLE, the set of annual National General Knowledge Quizzing Games organized and run by the Liberia Media for Democratic Initiatives (LMDI) for Liberian children and youths, will today Monday, November 21, 2022, roll out a number of exhibition matches as a lead to the start of YEAR FIVE (5) Sessions of the competitions.

The LMDI-NACC first session of exhibition matches for Year Five (5), which are expected to be fierce academic battles in the junior secondary and senior secondary categories or divisions of the tournament, will start at 10:00AM at the African Dream Academy Theater at the ELWA Studio Junction within the ELWA, Paynesville City community.

The rollout of the exhibition matches comes close to the deadline for the registration period of schools for the competitions across Liberia’s fifteen counties. Registration for all schools/teams wishing to participate in YEAR FIVE (5) of the competitions is in progress and ends November 30, 2022. The YEAR FIVE (5) sessions of the games will include a special category on agricultural science with emphasis on the interventions of the Ministry of Agriculture and its partners.

Six schools are set to compete in the Monday’s exhibition matches in two major divisions or categories of the tournament namely Junior High Category and General or Senior High Category.

The games among senior high schools in the general category will feature four challenging schools from Montserrado County with the Catholic Cathedral Catholic High School set to battle the African Dream Academy while the John Lewis United Methodist High School will knock horns with the Carver Mission Academy.

The junior high division exhibition will feature the United Islamic School of Liberia going against the Zion Praise Academy.

The games will be live streamed on LMDI Facebook pages, Liberia Media for Democratic Initiatives-LMDI and LMDI-The Dialogue/Ducor Debates, recorded, produced, and broadcast and rebroadcast on or partnership network of 45 national and rural community radios with repeats in all the fifteen counties of Liberia.

The LMDI Tomorrow’s People Program was established in 2015 to promote academic excellence in Liberia and the YEAR FIVE (5) Sessions of the prestigious tournament are being rolled out in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture with support from the World Bank (WB) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) with the aim to give Liberian school children.

Tomorrow’s People is also proudly in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture with support from the World Bank (WB) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Boima Folley Sports Center in Monrovia.
